Borthwick-Galvin

Jackie Borthwick-Galvin was recently named to the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal’s “Top 25 Women in Business” listing for 2017.

This list includes 25 female professionals from Northeastern Pennsylvania who excel in their careers and the community.

Borthwick-Galvin, who is the director of development and communications for Little Sisters of the Poor at Holy Family Residence, Scranton, was included on this list based on her professional achievements and for her extensive volunteer efforts of her communications skills and time to various organizations.

Borthwick-Galvin’s professional achievements include receiving a merit award in The National Newspaper of Admissions Marketing nationwide advertising competition and being named to the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal’s “Top 20 Under 40” list.

Her volunteer efforts currently include serving as a parish council subcommittee member, community relations coordinator, and Women’s Guild and Fundraising Committee member at Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca. She also is the co-coordinator of the Little Sisters of the Poor’s Association Jeanne Jugan lay ministry, Scranton; and a member of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network and the Pittston Tomato Festival Committee. In the past, she has assisted J.M.J. Radio of the Diocese of Scranton, the Alzheimer’s Association, Northeast Pennsylvania region and the Shamrock Heart Foundation, Scranton.

She also is a community columnist for Greater Pittston Progress.

Borthwick-Galvinis an honors graduate of King’s College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and minors in marketing and psychology, as well as a Master of Science degree in health care administration with a concentration in health care marketing and public relations. She also earned graduate certificates in public health administration and executive leadership in health care administration during her studies at King’s.

Borthwick-Galvin is the daughter of Lorraine Borthwick, Duryea, and the late Jack Borthwick. She resides in Avoca with her husband, Jim, and their son, J.J.
