Pittston Memorial Library lists events
Pittston Library will host a mini golf event in April and is seeking hole and prize sponsors.
Saturday, April 28, is Family Day with refreshments and golf for all ages. Friday, April 27, is Adult Night with cocktails and golf. Participants must be 21.
This event will benefit the Pittston Memorial Library and its programs. For information or to be a sponsor, contact the library at 570-654-9565, ext. 21.
The Pittston Library will be offering a Ukrainian pysanky class taught by Tammy Budnovitch at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10.
Each two-hour beginner class teaches the basic steps of making pysanky. The cost for the class is $25 per person, which includes needed supplies. The egg this year will be a different design from last’s years design and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the library.
Space is limited and reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a spot, stop by the library with full payment. Classes have filled quickly in the past, so make reservations as soon as possible.
Tammy will also have pysanky, as well as additional supplies for sale at this event. For information, call the library at 570-654-9565

St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church announced the following events:
Krispy Kreme donuts that were ordered through the church fundraiser can be picked up Sunday, Feb. 11.
Council will meet after service Sunday, Feb. 11.
Christian Education Night is held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. AMPED is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
Ash Wednesday service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Maundy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. at Immanuel, and Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7 p.m.
St. Joseph Marello
plans pasta dinner
St. Joseph Marello Parish will host its annual pasta dinner Sunday, Feb. 11, at the parish center, 237 William St., Pittston. This one-day fundraiser will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with takeouts beginning at 11 a.m. This year, the dinner will be a choice of either pasta or polenta with meatballs, salad, garlic bread sticks and strawberry shortcake. Soda and coffee are included. There will be beer and wine available for purchase.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students. For tickets, call the office at 570-654-6902.
