Santa is stopping in the area for breakfast two weekends in a row — for a Kiwanis event this weekend and at West Wyoming Hose Company next week.

Wyoming Area Kiwanis Club, Key Club and Builders Club have finalized plans for their annual Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 3. The jolly old elf from the North Pole will be at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center cafeteria to greet children and families from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Breakfast of eggs, pancakes, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate costs $7 for adults and $4 for children under 13. Breakfast is free for children younger than 2. Tickets will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis.

Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa in a warm, comfortable environment, along with their parents. PSP will provide professional photo services and parents can take their own photos, as well. Children can explore the Christmas Wonderland, make Christmas crafts and participate in seasonal activities. There will be basket and Christmas tree raffles. All funds raised will defray the costs of the organizations’ service projects.

Santa will return next weekend for breakfast at the banquet hall of West Wyoming Hose Company No. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 10. The event benefits the hose company, which is located at 926 Shoemaker Avenue, West Wyoming.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children and are available from any member. Santa will have small gifts for the children. Please come and support our firefighters.

Exeter recycling

Exeter now has single stream recycling. Recycling will still be collected Mondays. All recyclables can now be placed in the same container and placed out weekly.

A flyer is in the white rural mailbox in front of the borough building with a list of what can and cannot be put out. Everything on the calendar is still recyclable, with the exception of shredded paper. The borough will no longer pick up shredded paper. Also, items are on the new list that weren’t picked up before.

Yard waste will still be collected Thursdays.

Regular garbage is still collected Wednesdays.

Please do not use the yellow recycling bins for garbage.

Place your bags in regular garbage cans. It is a three-bag limit no matter what size the bag is, as long as it is less than 30 pounds. Do not place several small bags in your garbage can. Condense them into a larger bag.

Placing the garbage in a refuse can reduces the likelihood of an animal opening it. If animals do open your garbage, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to clean it up.

Refuse, recyclables and yard waste are to be placed curbside the night before pick up or by 6 a.m. the morning of collection.
