A late fee of $10 will be added to the 2018 refuse and recycling fee Feb. 1 for anyone who has not paid by Jan. 31.
Christmas tree pickup will still be on Thursdays.
The Jenkins Twp. Board of Supervisors meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 14, will be moved to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Pastor Stanley Oschman’s Plaid Community Church usually meets on Thursdays at Original Italian Pizza near Heather Highlands from 6 to 8 p.m. for dinner and Bible study.
The church also has “Church on the Road” with visits to homes and arenas to play music. One show is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 10, at the Mountain View nursing home.
The church also has a fundraiser scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Heather Highlands community room, dedicated to the crisis group Pathway, a group for women in crisis. All proceeds from the dinner and show go to those women in need. Tickets are $25.
Jenkins Twp. Little League registration
Jenkins Twp. Little League is accepting registrations for 2018.
Children, ages 4-12 who reside within Jenkins, Inkerman, Yatesville and surrounding territories, are eligible to join.
Sign-ups are from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, and Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Jenkins Twp. Municipal Building, 46½ Main St., Inkerman. Online registrations also are being accepted at jenkinstwplittleleague.com, until March 1.
Cost for majors, minors and coach pitch registration is $80, and $50 for tee ball.
There will be a free giveaway for all registrants.
New registrants must provide a birth certificate and proof of residence or school attendance. Also, boys and girls signing up must turn 4 before Sept. 1, 2018.

Pittston Twp. residents may schedule a tree pickup by calling the municipal building at 570-654-0161, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Jenkins Twp. Crime Watch
The Jenkins Twp. Crime Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the municipal building, 46½ Main St., Inkerman.

Pittston Area’s baseball and softball teams are raising money by hosting a designer purse bingo. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 28, at Eagle McLure Hose Company, 375 Milwaukee Ave., Old Forge. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and bingo games being at 1 p.m.
Tickets are $25 each and are available at Joyce Insurance, 9 N. Main St., Pittston. You also may call Kristy Rosiak at 570-479-0031.
There will be special games, a basket raffle, a bake sale, food and refreshments.
The county and municipal taxes bills will be issued Feb. 12.
Jenkins Twp. Tax Collector Jean Mudlock will be collecting taxes at the Jenkins Twp. Municipal Building, 46½ Main St., Inkerman, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. She will not have evening hours.
Pittston Twp. Tax Collector Rita Timonte will have office hours from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at her home office, 12 E. Oak St., Pittston Twp., until the end of the discount period.
Discount period ends April 11. Face period ends June 11 and the penalty phase ends Dec. 31.

Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance Association announced its 2018 membership drive letters were mailed earlier this month.

Pittston Twp. snow removal
Pittston Twp. wishes to remind its residents the placement of any portable basketball hoops, sports goals or stands on any township-owned roadway is prohibited between Nov. 1 and March 31. Township road maintenance trucks have be damaged during snow plowing operations due to collisions with these objects. If you have any of these objects on a township road, please remove it as soon as possible. For information, please contact the municipal building at 570-654-0161.
