WARREN RUDA / STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER Jenkins Twp. installed a new digital sign at the municipal building that will keep residents up to date on the latest township information.

Jenkins Twp. has a few reminders for residents. First, Monday, May 14, Laflin Road will be closed at the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing beginning at 8 a.m. The work will last a few days and there will be detours since all of Laflin Road will be closed.

Also, the township wishes to remind everyone that the new sign at the Jenkins Twp. Municipal Building is up and running as of Thursday, May 3. Please check the sign for all of the latest municipal information, which will be posted on the new digital sign.

Residents are also reminded to pay their refuse/recycling bill. As of May 1, a $20 late fee has been added to the balance. You may pay your bill at the municipal building, 46½ Main St., Inkerman, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. If this is an inconvenience, you may mail your payment in with a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a receipt and sticker will be mailed back to you.

Lastly, yard waste will be picked up every Thursday. Residents are reminded to put yard waste in the appropriate containers.

Containers must have perforations on the bottom, handles on each side and cannot have a lid on top. They may not have rims on the top, wheels on the bottom, or exceed 20 gallons. The filled containers cannot weigh more than 30 pounds. If there are branches in the container, they must not be more than 3 inches long, and they must be bundled and tied together for a manageable pickup.
