A life-size bronze statue of President John F. Kennedy was dedicated Sunday, July 9, in Pittston near the Water Street Bridge, facing the boulevard that bears his name. The John F. Kennedy Knights of Columbus Council 372 of Pittston and its auxiliary, the Jacquelines, along with the Greater Pittston Friendly Sons, rased $25,000 for the statue. The groups are still accepting donations for landscaping and upkeep of the statue. Checks, payable to the JFK Statue Fund, can be sent to 35 Broad St., Pittston.
