Paint Pittston Pink is just around the corner, with a number of fun events planned that will help the community come together to fight cancer.

Paint the Night Pink, which will be held Friday, Sept. 29, is one of the first events to come up for the fourth annual Paint Pittston Pink campaign. The event’s debut last year at the Riverfront Park in Pittston was a great success. Supporters and donors will be able to purchase an eco-friendly lantern in honor of a loved one who died or for someone who is still in the fight to beat cancer. Registration is now open.

The highlight of Paint Pittston Pink is the Color Me Pink 5K Run and Gentlemen’s Dash, which will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. Register at raceroster.com or at the Greater Pittston YMCA at 8:30 a.m. the day of the race.

Among the other events planned are Paint Pittston Pink Purse Bingo at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Also, the Greater Pittston YMCA will hold Zumba and Spin classes and The Sapphire Salon will host a yoga class. Paint PAZZO Pink on Monday, Oct. 2, and celebrity bartending at the Red Mill on Friday, Oct. 6, also are planned.

Paint Pittston Pink is a 501(c)3 organization that was started by Barbara Sciandra and Qiana Lehman to raise awareness and fund research to find a cure for cancer.
