After learning about a police officer’s job and viewing examples of police patches from around the country, students at Pittston Area’s Martin F. Quinn Primary Center designed their own police patches in art class. The patches included words and pictures representing their appreciation for the police in the community. The top three winners for each grade were awarded when Hughestown Police Officers Ruddy Navarro and Drew Malvizzi visited to speak about a police officer’s role in the community. First row, from left, are Audrey Twardowski, Yarielis Pagan-Cubi, David Krantz, Jared Jones and Eleanor Allardyce. Second row: Hughestown Police Officer Ruddy Navarro, Aryanna Davis, art teacher, and Hughestown Police Officer Drew Malvizzi. Bridget Bufogle also participated.
