During the Thanksgiving season, students at Wyoming Area Catholic School, Exeter, assist the Little Sisters of the Poor with a collection to aid their ministry in Scranton. The Little Sisters of the Poor offer hospitality to the needy aged in 33 countries around the world. Holy Family Residence in Scranton is a home for the elderly poor, where, in collaboration with lay staff, volunteers, family and friends, the sisters strive to provide a home for their guests in an atmosphere of respect, dignity and love. They presently have residents in the skilled nursing units and independent living apartments for low income seniors that they care for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
