Wyoming Free Library is hosting a children’s Virtual Minecraft Art Show. Contest participants will design up to three original art pieces using Minecraft, and email them to the library. The contest runs through March. All submitted pieces will be displayed on the library Facebook and web page during National Library Week, April 9-15.

Wyoming Free Library is hosting a special 90th anniversary Art ’N’ Vino event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 24. The event will be held at the Art ’N’ Vino Paint and Sip Studio, 667 N River St., Wilkes-Barre.

The LEGO Club of the Wyoming Free Library will meet from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 8. This program is free and suitable for children of all ages. Registration is required. Please call the library to reserve a spot.

Tea, Tips and Treasures: Peter Rabbit and Friends Tea will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25.

Tea, Tips and Treasures: Building a City from Household Objects will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8.

Donations are needed for the programs. Please call the library to register and for a list of needed donations.

First Baptist concert

The First Baptist Church, 52 E. Eighth St., Wyoming, will host the Hinkle Family in concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 21.

The Hinkle Family has traveled 365 days a year since 2001, ministering to elderly citizens in churches, nursing homes and senior centers.

WA Tennis Parents fundraiser

Mark your calendars for a Taste and Tour of the Susquehanna Brewing Company at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 8, and help the Wyoming Area Tennis Parents fix the courts.

Cost to attend is $15 and it includes one flight of pre-selected beer ( four 5 oz. glasses), tour of the brewery and food. There will be tailgating games to play and cash prizes will be awarded, along with a basket raffle. You can buy pre-sale tickets from any tennis parent or at the door.

If anyone would like to donate a basket item or food item, contact any tennis team parent. All proceeds go toward the restoration of the courts in West Pittston.

West Wyoming trash fee

Invoices have been mailed for West Wyoming’s 2017 sanitation fee. As of March 1, the cost is $300 for the year and citations will be filed with the district magistrate for noncompliance with the ordinance. Payment for the sanitation bill can be sent to West Wyoming Borough Building, 464 W. 8th St., West Wyoming PA 18644. For the convenience of residents, credit cards are accepted.

Exeter refuse stickers

The refuse stickers for 2017 for Exeter Borough are on sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Price is $180 for regular stickers and $130 for senior citizens. The rebate period ended Feb. 24.

The refuse office is at 1101 Wyoming Ave. To purchase a sticker by mail, please send a check or money order in a self-addressed, stamped envelope, to Exeter Borough Refuse, 1101 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, PA 18643. For information, call 570-654-3001, ext. 2.

Exeter recycling

Exeter has posted the 2017 recycling calendar on the borough website. It can be found at www.exeterborough.com.

West Wyoming recycling

West Wyoming Borough has made a change in its recycling program. The borough will be using single stream recycling. Cans, paper, plastic and cardboard can be comingled together and deposited in any of the recycling containers behind the fire department.

Glass recycling needs to be separated and deposited in the designated recycling container. Do not throw garbage in the recycling containers.

Wyoming Hose Company

No. 1 fund drive

Wyoming Hose Company No. 1, serving Wyoming Borough and surrounding communities, thanks all residents and businesses who donated to the annual fire drive.

A second mailing has been

sent out requesting donations to the annual drive. Donations will be accepted until the end of March, at which time the drive will close for the year.

Donations to the annual drive allow the hose company volunteers to serve members of the community in their time of need.

In addition to the fund drive, the hose company also is accepting new member applications.

Little League registration

Wyoming/West Wyoming Little League announced registration for the GWA Junior/Senior Baseball and Junior Softball teams is open through March. Register at www.wyomingwestwyomingll.com.
